Challenges
- Machinery blind spots are a major site hazard: when an excavator slews, a crane swings or a loader or dump truck reverses, there are sightline dead zones front, back, left and right — and a worker stepping close can easily be run over or struck.
- Conventional reversing mirrors and single cameras only show one direction and cannot cover the full 360° blind spot, while Hong Kong site-safety management and insurance requirements keep rising, making active machine-perimeter protection the trend.
- NF-AVM360 comprises the NF-AVM360 host (4-channel AI MDVR) with four blind-spot/around-view cameras, a 7-inch monitor and an audible-visual AI voice alarm.
Solution Design
- Four 1080P metal, waterproof IR cameras are mounted front, back, left and right; their feeds go to the host and the operator sees a 360° split-view on the 7-inch screen, making blind spots obvious at a glance.
- The host uses H.265 hardware compression with a built-in ADAS + 4-channel BSD blind-spot algorithm, runs on 8–36V wide voltage straight off the machine's power, outputs AV / aviation / VGA and supports reverse-priority automatic view switching.
- The core is active detection: the BSD algorithm analyses the around-view feeds in real time, and the moment a person or obstacle enters the danger zone around the machine it triggers an audible-visual alarm and an AI voice announcement — "You have entered the danger zone, please leave immediately" — prompting the operator to stop and warning the worker, preventing accidents from both sides.
- The IR cameras keep detecting at night and in tunnels or basements; everything is recorded in 1080P, with support for one SD card up to 512 GB plus a hard disk up to 4 TB and multi-level anti-vibration storage, so footage can be retrieved to reconstruct any incident.
Core Benefits
- The solution fits excavators, loaders, cranes, rollers, dump trucks and heavy vehicles of all kinds — flexible to install and ready to use; an optional 4G module and GPS stream live video and location back to a control centre for fleet-wide management and trajectory playback, and it can be deployed alongside the Smart Site Safety System (SSSS).
- From camera placement and host installation to calibration, operator training and maintenance, New Forward handles it end to end, helping contractors implement machine-perimeter safety and cut injury risk.
