Challenges
- Remote countryside, marine floating platforms, temporary enclosures and emergency scenes usually have no mains power and no fixed broadband.
- Running cabling or trenching is costly, slow, or simply impossible, and conventional surveillance "can't be installed or connected" the moment it leaves the grid — leaving safety and security blind spots.
- New Forward's Rapid Deployment IP Camera System integrates the camera, telescopic lifting mast, solar power, energy storage and 4G networking into one rapidly deployable unit: roll it into place and raise the mast — one person in about two minutes — with no contractor or groundwork.
Solution Design
- The system is independent of mains power, fibre and on-site Wi-Fi: solar charges a 12 V battery for 2+ days of off-grid autonomy, and on dull days a backup port accepts mains or a generator; built-in 4G P2P links the camera to the cloud, while the enclosure's 4G router adds 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and RJ45.
- Live 24/7 viewing, alerts and playback are available on iOS/Android, PC CMS and the DMSS app, with footage recorded to on-board microSD.
- The camera is the Dahua DH-P3AE-PV-4G 3 MP outdoor 4G pan-tilt camera (Active Defense series): 2304×1296, pan 345°/tilt 90° with auto-tracking, AI human & vehicle detection (SMD 3.0) for fewer false alarms, smart dual light (30 m warm full-colour + 30 m IR), active sound-and-light deterrence, two-way talk and IP66 (−30 °C to +55 °C, 2 kV surge).
- Power and structure comprise a 60 W+ monocrystalline solar panel with charge controller and surge/lightning protection, a 12 V VRLA marine deep-cycle battery (≥2 days on a full charge, UL94-V0 flame-retardant, leak-proof, OCP/ODP/SCP), a pneumatic one-key telescopic aluminium mast of 3–5.8 m (stainless/corrosion-resistant option for marine use), a lockable weatherproof enclosure for the battery, controller and 4G module (RJ45/SMA antenna), and a mobile trolley base or marine fixings to bolt onto a platform or deck; add-on sensors (temperature, humidity, PM2.5, noise, vibration) and alarms can be fitted as needed.
Core Benefits
- For long-term central recording, optional Dahua Auto Registration lets the camera dial out and register to a central Dahua NVR/DSS, so the field unit needs no fixed or public-IP SIM and the centre keeps up to about a year of backup (subject to NVR storage), forming dual redundancy with the on-camera microSD and feeding many off-grid sites into a single operator view.
- New Forward delivers turnkey: a one-year 4G/5G SIM data plan, professional on-site installation and commissioning, and one year of maintenance (labour & parts, response within 24 h for urgent cases, replacement service), with solar wattage, battery capacity, mast height and material tailored to each site.
- The same off-grid power and 4G-backhaul foundation has been delivered for government works (e.g.
